JK admin likely to seek Army assistance to restore normalcy in Kashmir

Early Times Report Srinagar, Oct 25: With the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Srinagar based 15 Crops Lt General KJS Dhillon having hinted that Army was ready to provide security to fruit growers in the wake of terror attacks, the Jammu and Kashmir administration looks ahead to formally discuss the proposal with the Army. Sources said the Jammu and Kashmir administration looks ahead to hold a High Command meeting to be chaired by the Governor in the coming days where the plan will be discussed to finalize the modalities. Sources said the civil and police administration in Kashmir looks ahead to formally seek Army assistance for deployment in the sensitive areas especially the rural belts of south and north Kashmir to prevent any further terror strikes. "If Army provides deployment of its forces on the roads leading the orchards and also in market places, the sense of security among the general masses can improve and the anti-national forces can be kept at bay," said a senior official on the condition of anonymity.
