Exemplary action: ED attaches Shabir Shah’s building in terror funding case

Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 4: Taking exemplary action against anti-national elements, the Enforcement Directorate on Friday attached the building of jailed separatist leader Shabir Ahmed Shah, who is president of the Democratic Freedom Party. Shabir Ahmed Shah is presently lodged in Delhi’s Tihar jail in connection with the money laundering case to fund terror groups active in Kashmir Valley. “Directorate of Enforcement (ED) has provisionally attached an immovable property situated at Botshah Colony, Sanat Nagar, Police Station Barzulla, Srinagar of the value of Rs. 21.80 lakhs in the name of Shabir Ahmad Shah son of Ghulam Mohammad Shah under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002”, a statement issued by ED on Friday reads. Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 4: The Enforcement Directorate has also made Shabir Shah’s wife Dr. Bilquis Shah an accused in the same case. The agency named her as an accused in its supplementary charge sheet filed in the case in 2020. In the chargesheet filed by Enforcement Directorate in 2020, the probe agency said that Bilquis Shah, along with Shabir Shah had received Rs 2.08 crore from Aslam Wani. It said the claim was based on Wani’s disclosure in the case, where he admitted that “all amounts were in cash and were handed over to Shabir Ahmad Shah and on three occasions to Dr. Bilquies Shah”. Agencies New Delhi, Nov 4: In a month-long campaign to expedite the execution of warrants and production of absconders and accused before courts, the RPF arrested 319 offenders, including 52 absconding for the past 10 to 15 years, the Railways said Friday. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) is responsible for the security of Railway property. Cases of theft of railway property are registered and enquired by RPF under the Railway Property (Unlawful Possession) Act. Poonch: Mother, daughter killed as landslide hits house

Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 4: A mother and her daughter were killed when a landslide hit a concrete house on Friday in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. The deceased woman’s husband managed to escape with injuries in the Bafliaz area incident of Surankote, police said. The landslide occurred in the morning as huge boulders hit the house of Mohammad Latief and the structure collapsed, the police added. Agencies New Delhi, Nov 4: The Army has approved project sanction orders of five Make II projects, including drone kill system and infantry training weapon simulator, giving an impetus to India’s vision for self-reliance, the Defence Ministry said on Friday.
