TOP STORY OF THE DAY
Covid-19 guidelines are for fools, JK BJP leaders exempted!
12/12/2020 11:28:07 PM
Early Times Report jammu, Dec 12: Amid a second wave of deadly Covid-19 having gripped the country prompting Prime Minister, Narendra Modi to urgently call an all-party meeting, the Bharatiya Janta Party leaders in Jammu and Kashmir seem to be in no mood to adhere to the safety protocols. During the ongoing District Development Council elections, the BJP leaders have been holding numerous party meetings where neither the social distancing is maintained nor the leaders are seen wearing face masks. At one such meeting held recently in Jammu district, where the cases have been on rise, the BJP leaders were seen literally rubbing shoulders with each other and none of them was wearing face masks. Similar remained the scene during the BJP's party meetings held recently in Kashmir. The defiance of the protocol from the BJP is coming at a time, when a BJP President Ravinder Raina was among the few hundred Covid cases from Jammu earlier this year and thus the party was expected to be more cautious. Raina had recovered from the infection only after hospitalization. As about the recent ...

12/12/2020 11:28:00 PM
Early Times Report jammu, Dec 12: The ruling Bharaitya Janta Party at the center seems to be in no mood to give up on the District Development Council elections in Jammu and Kashmir as the right wing party is playing smartly in both the regions during the ongoing campaigning. While the BJP has sent its senior leader and former Union Minister, Syed Shahnawaz Hussain for campaigning in Kashmir, Member Parliament Anuraj Thakur who is known for his fiery speeches against Shaheen Bagh protests in particular, is party's main face for Jammu. Observers say till now Shahnawaz and Thakur remained star campaigners for the BJP in the twin regions of the Union Territory for the DDC elections. While ...

Kashmiri Saffron launched in Dubai; no marketing policy for Jammu's Basmati
12/12/2020 11:27:49 PM
Early Times Report jammu, Dec 12: With an aim to promote Kashmiri Saffron in West Asia, the J&K administration has launched the spice in the UAE market for the first time but nothing has been done to popularize Basmati of Jammu and Rajmash of Bhaderwah. Basmati growers were hoping that authorities would popularize the unique rice of Jammu in the international market but all their hopes have been dashed. Although Basmati produced in Jammu is unique to its rich aroma and taste, nothing concrete has been done so far to sell it in the international market. Except promises authorities have failed to formulate a comprehensive policy to promote Basmati in the international market. Belts of R S...

Mehbooba, her ilk eating humble pie
Her war mongering goes for toss as tourists return to Kashmir
12/12/2020 11:27:42 PM
Early Times Report jammu, Dec 12: What could send the PDP president and her ilk into tizzy is the huge rush of tourists planning to visit Kashmir on new year eve, leaving her rhetoric that "Valley would turn into an inferno" inviolably rejected. Ahead of the Article 370 abrogation and after her release from 14 months of captivity, the PDP President and her coteries would often describe the Kashmir situation as "ruthlessly worrisome and violent," stating that the scarping of the special status has plunged the erstwhile state into an unending cycle of uncertainty. However, her claims and rhetoric are falling flat as normalcy is returning to the lives in Jammu and Kashmir. One tight slap ...

12/12/2020 11:27:23 PM
Early Times Report jammu, Dec 12: As the five phases of the ongoing District Development Council elections in Jammu and Kashmir have been completed, the mess within the Peoples' Democratic Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD)-an amalgam of Kashmir centric parties-is clearly visible. According to the analysts final three phases of the DDC polls are important as these could prove decisive. "The PAGD contesting these elections as a single entity has not helped its cause.
