EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 27: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Monday seems to have woken up from the deep slumber as it has finally paid its attention towards plethora of important power reformation schemes of Jammu that were till date kept in limbo, leaving the inhabitants of the region in absolute perturbation. On Monday, the government convened a meeting to review power scenario in Jammu division and implementation of various centrally sponsored schemes under JPDCL projects. Insiders reveal that serious concern was expressed over the inordinate delay that has been done in the implementation of these schemes by the governments in the past and how ruthlessly central grants were made to lapse with absolute impunity. The government has also expressed dismay over present status of Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS), Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY), Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP) and several other schemes. In addition 22 other cases were reported from the different districts of the Kashmir valley. With the fresh cases reported today the number of positive cases in Jammu & Kashmir has reached 546. Since 164 persons have recovered so far and seven others have died, the number of active cases in the union territory is 375. EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 27: A COVID-19 laboratory has been set up in the Union Territory of Ladakh to ensure timely and cost-effective sample testing, officials said on Monday. Earlier, the samples had to be sent to Delhi by flights leading to delays and heavy expenditure, they said. EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Apr 27: Jammu and Kashmir Government has extended the restrictions on high-speed internet in the Union Territory after the scheduled review. The renewed order, signed by Shaleen Kabra, Principal Secretary to the government, states that “the internet speed shall be restricted to 2G only” till 11 May. In Jammu and Kashmir, the internet connectivity was snapped in August 2019 before the Central government broke the erstwhile state into two union territories.
