Omar, separatists want to set JK on fire
Sainik Colony Row
5/8/2016 11:52:33 PM
Early Times Report Jammu, May 8: The former Chief Minister and National Conference working President Omar Abdullah raising hue and cry over reports about government mulling to set up Sainik colonies in Kashmir indicates that after losing power he is leaving no stone unturned to appease the separatists and other pro-Pak elements who too are toeing the same line. Pertinently, Omar on Saturday had launched a scathing attack on PDP led BJP government for planning to set up Sainik colony in Kashmir and termed it as apossible "ruse to settle non-state subjects" in the Valley. Like Omar, all the separatists, including Hurriyat hawk Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Yasin Malik, Aasiya Andrabi, Shabir Shah and others opposed the move and threatened that mass agitation would be launched against any such attempt. An analyst while talking to Early Times said, "Since the day Omar has been ousted out of power he has lost the plot and has been making unnecessary noise. Setting up of Sainik colonies has been a long pending plan of the government and someone needs to ask him how could a settling a f...

Durbar Move: A white elephant?
5/8/2016 11:52:01 PM
Early Times Report Jammu, May 8: Even as the main offices working within the Secretariat which shift with Durbar twice a year between two state capitals are inevitably bound to be a part of the ancient practice, there are scores of offices and individual officers whose movement with the government is simply unwarranted, notwithstanding the fact that they do not move in full, instead in camp. These offices outnumber the main departments of the government machinery and put unnecessary, avoidable burden on the exchequer as no government has given a serious thought to irrelevance and insignificance of dragging them along with the Move every year. While the main departments including those ...
