Top LeT commander among 2 terrorists killed in Kulgam encounter

Early Times Report Srinagar, May 8: A Top Pakistani Commander was among two Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) terrorists killed in a gun battle that erupted at Cheyan Devsar area of south Kashmir's Kulgam district on Sunday, police said. Incriminating material, arms and ammunition, including one Ak-56 Rifle with four Magazines, one Pistol with a Magazine, a Universal Barrel Gun Large (UBGL), one Pouch and ID Cards of LeT were recovered from the site of encounter, they said. Acting on specific information generated by police regarding the presence of terrorists in Cheyan Devsar area of Kulgam, Police and Army's 9 Rashtriya Rifles launched a joint cordon and search operation in the said area. During the search operation, as the search party approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists fired indiscriminately upon the party which was effectively retaliated, leading to an encounter. Early Times Report Srinagar, May 8: According to police, the newly recruited terrorist Shabaz Shah was involved in the killing of a civilian belonging to a minority community namely Satish Kumar Singh on April 4, 2022 in the Kakran area of Kulgam. Reports said that Shabaz Shah, a local terrorist killed with Haider, had joined terror ranks just two weeks ago. He was a hybrid terrorist.
