Mufti for tough action against land mafia
9/19/2015 12:34:42 AM
Early Times Report Srinagar, Sept 18: The State Government has directed officials to act tough against the land mafia including a former Minister. Sources said Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has communicated to the higher officials that examples would be set up by taking tough action against the powerful nexus of politicians-bureaucrats-police. The Minister had raised the construction on the land of khud in clear violations of the law," said sources. They said that to clean up the system, the CM had specifically handed over the Revenue portfolio to Javeed Mustafa Mir. "Mir is a tough guy. He can neither be approached for any wrongdoing nor can he be pressurized by any means. He knows how to deal with the corrupt and powerful mafia and it's for this reason that a big shark like a former NC Minister has been touched," said a senior official, wishing not to be named. Sources said the Revenue Minister on the directions of the CM had got the details of the State land encroac...
