Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug 2: Senior Congress leader and former Minister Sham Lal Sharma today arrested by the police for violating section 144 but BJP ministers and leaders addressed a massive gathering of party workers within the city where same Section was imposed.
Instead of taking action against BJP ministers and leaders for violating Section 144, administration was seen providing security of them thus facilitating illegal act.
BJP today organised a meeting of party workers near Bakshi Nagar in a private hall which is situated within the limit of Jammu Municipal Corporation where Section 144 has been imposed due to prevailing law and order situation. This meeting was organised indeed to ask party workers to take on members of the Coordination Committee for not calling off their agitation on AIIMS. A large number of BJP workers attended the meeting despite the back that Section 144 was imposed in the city. Not only within the premises of the hall but BJP workers were seen moving in groups in Shakti Nagar and Bakshi Nagar despite the fact that for common people Section 144 has been imposed.
BJP in its official handout stated that party ministers and leaders addressed a massive gathering of party workers at Jammu.
"To enable the party activists to reach the masses with the true picture of the AIIMS, as sanctioned by Union Health Ministry, the State unit of BJP organized 1-day 'workers meeting' at Jammu on Sunday. It was addressed by BJP State President & MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, Former State President & MLC Ashok Khajuria, State General Secretary(Org.) Ashok Koul, Social Welfare Minister Bali Bhagat, Industries Minister Chander Prakash Ganga and Minister of PHE & Irrigation Sukhnandan Kumar", according to the handout.
