| VC fails to keep UIET with varsity, buckles before govt pressure: NSF | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 11: National Secular Forum (NSF) chief Dr Vikas Sharma today said that Prof RD Shamra has buckled down under the pressure of the state government and abdicated his responsibility to resist shifting of University College of Engineering and Technology out of the control of varsity.
Dr. Vikas Sharma in a press conference mocked at the irresponsible way of using his Facebook wall to criticize newspapers in which he (VC) stated that a particular leading newspaper carried "mischievous and misleading information regarding UIET".
Slamming Prof Ramji Dass Sharma, Dr. Vikas said that instead of raising his fingers on the press, he should muster up courage to shun giving vent to his frustration via his Facebook wall and come openly for press conference before the press media to put forth his view point regarding UIET in order to clear the controversy surrounding the University administration working under him, he challenged.
Sharing details with press media, Dr. Vikas stated that last year University College of Engineering and Technology started functioning in the premises Jammu University adjacent to the building of DDE in which 63 students took admission and have reportedly entered second semester after completing their first semester for which six teachers were appointed on contractual basis.
Under such circumstances, is not it the responsibility of the university administration headed by incumbent VC Prof Ramji Dass Sharma to come forward to rescue the academic career of these enrolled students by taking strong stand before the government, Dr Vikas said adding that similar type of incompetence was shown by Prof Ramji Dass Sharma and did not take any stand when two PG courses of Political Science and Economics as well as M. Ed, B. Ed were closed down putting the career of thousands students in jeopardy, he rued. |
