Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 17: In continuation to operation 'Sanjeevani', a special drive against drugs launched by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu-Vivek Gupta, today Miran Sahib Police claimed to have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 85 grams of heroin from their possession. Police spokesman said that today Police party of police station Miran Sahib established a Naka near Balole Bridge, Inder Nagar Jammu for checking and frisking of vehicles and pedestrian. "During checking and frisking one Alto K-10 bearing number registration number JK19-3435 coming from Jammu towards RS Pura stopped on Naka Point, in which one man and a lady were sitting", said spokesman adding that during questioning they disclosed their names as Tosick Hussain of Bibrota, Raj Garh in Ramban and Laila Khalid of Umer Mohalla near city Hospital Kishtwar presently staying at A/13 Sunjwan Jammu. Spokesman further said that on their personnel search, 45 grams heroin was recovered from the possession of Tosick Hussain and 40 grams heroin was recovered from the possession of Laila Khalid. In this connection a case under FIR No.116/2018 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at police station Miran Sahib, Jammu and investigation started. The accused persons/drugs peddlers were formally arrested and consignment of heroin along with vehicle has been seized accordingly. The arrest and recovery has been made by Inspector Ajit Singh-SHO Miran Sahib assisted by ASI Yougal Kishore-incharge police post Kullian under the supervision of DySP Sourav Prashar- SDPO RS Pura, SP Headquarters Romesh Chander Kotwal and overall supervision of SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta. |
