Early Times Report

Srinagar, Aug 19 : Plans of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to form the next government in the state has received a major setback as members of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who revolted against party publicly, didn't visit New Delhi to attend last rites of former Prime Minister and BJP ideologue Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Reports said that the rebel leaders including legislators didn't travel to New Delhi to attend the last rites of Vajpayee on Friday. Sources revealed to early times that this political development has dashed the hopes of BJP which had planned to form new government by the end of September this year. "It has also signaled that the process of government formation in Jammu and Kashmir has no prior approval of Prime Minister Narendra Modi or BJP President Amit Shah," they said. However sources claimed that if BJP's high command gives green signal for the government formation a major chunk of PDP legislators will not only join BJP, but will also accept Peoples Conference chairman Sajad Lone as Chief Minister. Governor N N Vohra, sources claimed, isn't also supporting BJP in its government formation plan. "He (Governor) wants all political parties to help him in conducting Panchayat and municipal elections in the state," they said. Sources said that the Governor has conveyed to all political parties of the state to concentrate on upcoming civic polls. "All these developments establish the fact that government formation in the state at this point of time isn't not possible however Sajad lone has expedited the process brining more people so that base of his party expands and he gets more seats in next assembly elections," they added. On Thursday, (16 August 2018) Vajpayee died at AIIMS New Delhi. He was 93.Thousands attended his last rites on Friday. Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti along her legislators and senior leaders also attended the last rites of Vajpayee, who as Prime Minister of India made serious efforts for peace through dialogue with neighboring country Pakistan.
