CS flags off special cleanliness drive launched by Directorate of Technical Education

Srinagar, Oct 17: Terming Srinagar as one of the most beautiful cities, Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam today said that cleanliness plays key role towards developing an optimisticand productive attitude among the people.
The Chief Secretary said this while flagging off 7-Day chain of cleanliness drive with the theme "From-Me-To-You" from Peerzo along the banks of River Jhelum here this morning. The cleanliness drive is being organized by the Directorate of Technical Education, J&K.
Around 300 students from different Polytechnics and ITIs from the Valley are participating in the drive.
Appreciating the drive launched by the Technical Education Department, Chief Secretary urged the local residents, volunteers and students to participate in the cleanliness drives and carry out awareness campaign across the state, besides taking initiatives to restore the pristine glory Kashmir's scenic sites to attract tourists.
Subrahmanyam urged students and volunteers for continuing this chain of cleanliness drive with same enthusiasm and energy, besides motivating other people around to be part of the process so that the drive triggers a chain reaction.
Speaking on the occasion, Divisional CommissionerKashmir, Baseer Khan said the process of cleanliness should be continuous and the youth should take an active part in such campaigns. "They should also create awareness about the cleanliness," he said.
