Cong, BJP MLAs forgot Gangyal after winning elections: Locals tell Munish Gupta
Mass Contact Programme Continues
6/21/2019 12:28:51 AM
Early Times Report

Jammu, June 20: Forner MLAs, who represented Gandhi Nagar Assembly constituency, ignored Gangyal area and gave preference to only posh areas in Gandhi Nagar constituency, locals told Early Times, Editor Munish Gupta on Thursday.
"Nor Congress, neither the BJP MLAs have done anything for us. MLAs of both the parties left us in lurch," locals told Munish, who would be contesting upcoming assembly election from the Gandhi Nagar Constituency as an Independent candidate.
Munish conducted extensive tour of Ward No. 56 of Gangyal area and market of Babliyan road as part of his mass contact programme.
Munish interacted to people of all walks of life and assured them, all their problems would be addressed on priority basis if he wins the elections.
"A nallah which flows through Mangal Enclave has been encroached by an influential businessman, due to which water logging in our locality has become a common feature," said Nanak Singh and added that the issue of encroachment of nallah near New Look Furniture House was brought to notice of then Deputy Chief Minister and Minister Local Bodies, Tara Chand. He acted swiftly and asked to Jammu Municipal Corporation Commissioner to remove the encroachment and take action against the encroachers under law. The then Commissioner came here and demolished the encroachment but after change of guard, former local bodies minister, who also represented the constituency as MLA once again helped the encroacher to encroach the nallah again, alleged Khajoor Singh.
Yogesh Kumar residing in Mangal Enclave told Munish Gupta that irregular potable water supply and fused streetlights are the common problems of our locality. Dilapidated lanes, by lanes and choked drains have not been maintained by JMC properly.
"When Public Health Department (PHE) laid down pipes for water supply, the population of our locality was thin now the population has increased manifolds but the low diameter pipes is not sufficient to meet the need. These pipes need to be changed. We have brought the matter into the notice of administration on many occasions but till date officials haven't paid any heed ",said Narinder Singh adding that he has been begging PDD to install a electric pole in his lane but officials have "ignored" his pleas.
