| Urs of 17th century sufi saint Shah Sahib celebrated with religious fervour | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, June 21: Annual Urs of 17th century Sufi saint Hazrat Shah Mohammad Fareed-ud-Din Baghdadi (RTA) commonly known as Shah Sahib today celebrated with religious fervour at Kishtwar in which thousands of peoples from different parts of Jammu and Kashmir and outside participated. Heavy rush of pilgrims has been witnessed since last one weak at the Mausoleum of the sufi saint situated in old Kishtwar townr. On this occasion the caretaker of the shrine of sufi saint also displayed the personal belongs including sword, clothes and stick used by Hazrat Shah Mohammad Fareed-ud-Din Baghdadi (RTA) during his life. Shah sahib during his life time preaches religious education and spread the message of humanity among the people of the Doda, Kishtwar and adjoining Anantnag District of Kashmir province. Keeping in view of heavy rush of pilgrims, District administration Kishtwar along with police has made elaborated security arrangements, beside availability of drinking water. However people rued poor arrangements in terms of boarding and lodging arrangements for the pilgrims at Baitul Zaireen at Hidyal Chowk Kishtwar. The pilgrims also shows dissatisfaction over the arrangements made by the administration as there was acute shortage of transportation, bathrooms and temporary shelters. Several pilgrims were seen sleeping on foot paths as well as in open. A special arrangement of food was also made at different location by the people at its own. The Sajjada Naseen (Caretakers) of the shrines also made the arrangements for food at many places.
BMO Kishtwar dr. Gansham Singh and the nodal officer of the Urs also visited the both shrines and supervised the medical arrangements and other facilities of the health department for the pilgrims.
After night long special prayers, the Urs will come to end tomorrow morning. Tourism Development Authority Kishtwar also fail to raise the occasion and no activity of the department along with information department was seen visible on ground. |
