Govt Commerce Govt organises orientation programme | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 3: The Department of Management Studies of Govt. S.P.M.R. College of Commerce, Jammu today organized orientation cum induction programme for the students of BBA First year. Dr. Pallavi Arora, Assistant Professor, International Centre for Cross-Cultural Research & HRM, University of Jammu and an alumni of Department of Management Studies of Govt. S.P.M.R. College of Commerce, Jammu was the Resource Person. The event was organized as a part of a familiarization and assimilation programme for BBA first year students. On the occasion, she deliberated upon the secrets of success for future managers and added that the Process of globalisation and liberalisation is bringing sweeping changes in the concept of doing business but not much is being said about ethics of doing Business and values among managers. The erosion of ethics and basic moral principles of right and wrong have taken us to the point where trust in our institutions and the very systems that make our society work are in imminent danger of oblivion. Perhaps at no time during the last two or three decades has business ethics is of such paramount importance to the well-being of our business entities and country. She also deliberated on the skills most sought after by the industries. Dr. Pallavi Arora was of opinion that Business Communication, Personality, Grooming, Behaviour Skills, high ethics, moral values and innovative skills are becoming basic requirements in all industries. In order to have suitable employment the candidate must acquire proper skills. She also replied to various queries of the students. |
