Early Times Report

JAMMU, Sept 3: The CPI (M) State Secretary and MLA Kulgam Mohammed Yousf Tarigami today strongly advocated for resumption of Indo-Pak talks to end impasse and normalise the relations between the two countries.
Holding of talks was must for normalisation of relations between the two neighbouring countries of India and Pakistan, Tarigami told reporters here today. He said suspension of dialogue process was not in the interests of any body as the things can be only solved through negotiations which will lead to restoration of peace and normalisation of situation on borders.
He said the issues of cross border terrorism and infiltration from across the border could also be settled after raising them on negotiation table and not by suspending dialogue process as such a step will lead to escalation of tension on borders. He in an appeal urged the leaders of India and Pakistan to restore the dialogue process and end the border skirmishes once for all.
In this regard he made a reference to former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee who had said that neighbours can’t be changed and suggested that dialogue process was only way out to settle bilateral issues.
The CPI (M) leader  while expressing concern over the plight of border migrants who have been forced to flee from various parts of RS Pura due to recent order shelling from across demanded allotment of land for them at safer places for their settlement so that under such circumstances they are relieved of the problems .
Mr Tarigami said that the allotment of land was the only solution to the problems of border people and Government should not delay the decision in this regard.
He while expressing concern over the statements given some leaders said that all efforts should be made to refrain from provocative statements and urged the BJP Central leadership to act in a responsible manner as the Party has been given the mandate to run the Government at Centre.Such statements are meant to divide the society and create a gulf among the communities, he said, adding the BJP High Command should act against such leaders who will try to divide the community just for vote politics.
Tarigami said that J&K has diversity and it is the greatest power of the State and all efforts should be made to maintain this diverse character of the State with equal development of all three regions.
