JKSUF threatens Government to boycott forth coming Assembly elections | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 3 : Jammu and Kashmir Sikh United Front (JKSUF) today threatened state government and other political parties that community might consider complete boycott of forthcoming assembly elections if government was not spelled permanent settlement of refugees and reservation on the analogy of other disadvantaged sections of society. Addressing media persons, JKSUT Chairman MahantManjit Singh advised the community members who attended the meeting and said that they should not commit their support to any political party unless there was a clear cut policy on important demands of the Sikhs.Singh further said that two issues of the sikh community one time permanent settlements of the refugees of 1947, 1965 and 1971, reservation on the analogy of other disadvantaged communities like OSCs and OBCs have been long pending but every political party was dragging feet on addressing these issues."Sikh of Jammu and Kashmir shall not commit their vote to any party without a clear progress on these issues", Singh said and added that government should immediately come out with a clear policy on the issue of resettlement of refugees and reservation to the Sikh community. Other political parties have also been called upon to clearly spell out their policies for welfare of the Sikh community. |
