Another cyclone heading towards Visakhapatnam? 11/6/2014 11:24:01 PM Agencies Hyderabad, Nov 6: Visakhapatnam has yet to recover from the trail of devastation left behind by Cyclone Hudhud, but the city may be in for more trouble. As per reports, a low-pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal has already turned into a deep depression and could move towards Visakhapatnam. Reports quoted the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) as saying that the monsoon depression was located around 700 kilometres away from Visakhapatnam – near the same spot where Cyclone Hudhud formed. A warning has already been issued by the Joint Typhoon Warning Centre at Pearl Harbour which states that the depression will eventually develop into a tropical cyclone due to the presence of favourable climatic conditions. The authorities in Andhra Pradesh have already taken note of the potential threat. Visakhapatnam District Collector N Yuvaraj is reported to have held an emergency meeting with revenue, panchayati raj, civil supplies as well as medical and health departments.
