Forces to conduct aerial, electronic surveillance

Srinagar, Nov 6 : For the smooth and incident free polling in the Valley, the security agencies would conduct aerial and electronic surveillance in sensitive parts of the region to counter militant attacks.
The first of the five phased elections in the state is set for 25th November and as of now, 150 candidates are in the fray for it. During the first phase of elections, polls will be witnessed in seven districts of JK spread over 15 out of 87 assembly segments in the state. Official sources said that security agencies in the Valley have brought new monitoring equipments 'specially' for the surveillance during polls.
"The surveillance includes aerial surveillance and electronic surveillance," they said. Explaining further, official sources, said: "The aerial survey would be done through Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) and helicopters while the electronic surveillance would monitor tele-communication."
They said tight vigil would also be held in those areas which recorded brisk polling in recent Lok Sabaha polls.
