Vijay Saraf tops Amar Singh Club elections
Prestigious club elects new executive committee

JAMMU, Dec 28: Renowned businessman Vijay Saraf secured the highest number of votes in closely fought elections for the executive committee of the prestigious Amar Singh Club Jammu.
In a statement here a spokesman of the Club said the elections for the members of Executive Committee of the club for next two years i.e 2015-2016 were held here this evening. Seventeen candidates contested the elections.
He said eleven out of 17 contestants were elected and Vijay Saraf came at the top by securing 1123 votes. The other victorious members are: Anil Kapahi who bagged 1064 votes, Anil Gupta secured 1021 votes, Naresh Gupta Tony got 986 votes, Sweesh Anand secured 942 votes, Karan Kapoor bagged 930 votes, Narinder Singh Chahal got 925 votes, Sidharth Mehta bagged 878 votes, Adv Vishal Abrol got 875 votes, Arvind Mahajan secured 856 votes and Dr Navindu Raizada bagged 831 votes.
The spokesman said that prior to executive committee elections Amar Singh Club held its Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) which was chaired by Divisional Commissioner Jammu and Vice-President of the Club. A large number of members attended the AGM in which many important decisions were taken for the smooth functioning of the club. The outgoing Secretary Siddhart Sharma appraised the house about the progress made in the recent past especially with addition of new family lounge and central court yard.
The vice-president addressed the gathering and appreciated the efforts of the secretary and the executive committees who he said did a commendable job.
