Incident took place inside the office of Deputy Commissioner Anantnag were MLC Bashir Ahmad Veeri was enquiring about the fraud done in the distribution of flood relief aid. Reports said that soon after the incident, dozens of employees left their work and staged a protest demo against the National conference leader. Protesting employees were demanding registration of FIR against the NC leader. "We will continue our protest till police registers FIR against the legislator who resorted to vulgarism and slapped the Additional Deputy Commissioner inside the office of Deputy commissioner." Reyaz Ahmad, an employee told Early Times, adding he himself wasn't an eye witness of the incident. Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Syed Tasaduq Geelani, Chief Planning Officer, Additional deputy Commissioner, Dr Bashir Ahmad Veeri and his Personal assistant Bilal Ahmad were present inside the office of DC Anantnag when incident took place, sources revealed. Additional Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Shabir Ahmad avoided repeated calls from Early Times. Hundreds of National Conference workers countered the employees by holding anti-administration demo inside DC office. They raised high pitched slogans against the official and accused him of distributing the flood relief aid among the workers of Peoples Democratic Party. MLC Bashir Ahmad Veeri on being contacted denied the allegations. "How could I slap an official, I am myself a legislature and know the law of the land. Tone of my argument was slightly high which the official misused to hide his corrupt deals." He said, adding he undeterred both the houses of democracy by abusing MLA Abdul Majeed Larmi and MLA Altaf Ahmad Kaloo. He said that brazenly, Additional Deputy Commissioner distributed relief in non-flood affected areas. "They have dumped the relief aid in forest division Bijbehara and are distributing the aid in non-flood affected areas which is unacceptable to us." Veeri said. Pertinently, after poll results were announced, people in this southern district have held numerous protest demonstration against the administration and have accused them of disbursing the relief aid on political considerations. Meanwhile a police official said that they have received the written application from the official and were about to register the FIR against the MLC. |
