JAMMU, Apr 22: Senior BJP leader and MLA Rajesh Gupta on Wednesday kick-started the up-gradation work on a Nallah near SPMR College of Commerce at Lajpat Nagar locality falling in Ward No. 19 of the constituency. The estimated cost to be incurred on the up-gradation of this Nallah is approximately Rs. 4.9 lakh. Government functionaries who were present on the occasion included XEn UEED Rakesh Gupta and XEn JMC Ranjit Singh. Besides, Rajesh Gupta also discussed and solved the issue of taming another Nallah in the vicinity near Dr Goel's lane that had caused havoc during recent heavy rains leading to water logging and unprecedented flooding. The estimated cost on taming and reconstruction of this Nallah is approximated to be Rs. 10 lakh. Speaking on the occasion, Rajesh Gupta assured that all the development related projects shall be undertaken in a time bound manner and no area falling under the ambit of Jammu East constituency will be left under developed. The MLA Jammu East said that providing state of art modern edifice to people of this constituency was his sole aim and until the goal is not achieved he will not take rest. The residents in large numbers expressed satisfaction and applauded Rajesh for his dedication and zeal towards working for the cause of people. They said that it was for the first time in so many years that a local representative is taking so much pain to address public issues.
