Rajendra chairs officers meeting, reviews police functioning of Jammu Zone

JAMMU, Apr 22: Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar has stressed for adoption of best practices to enhance capabilities of processional policing. He has asked for better man management to deliver more efficiently.
Rajendra was chairing a meeting of police officers from Jammu Zone to review the police functioning in the Zone, at Police Headquarters (PHQ) here this afternoon.
The DGP sought firsthand reports from Range Deputy Inspectors General of Police, District Superintendents of Police about the measures put in place to strengthen investigation mechanism and law and order situation in the districts of Jammu Province.
Rajendra while discussing crime scenario in the Zone, stressed to involve civil society and educational institutions in eradicating the crimes. He said that community policing has been paying good dividends in crime detection. Investigation of crime cases, adopting latest methods, needs to determine the fate of criminals. He said that investigation of all pending cases should be completed on merits and the culprits brought to justice.
Rajendra appreciated the performance of police establishments in different areas of policing, saying that JKP has contributed overwhelmingly to mitigate difficulties of people, besides providing people friendly policing. He said that public service is our motto and the force will adopt every method to provide better policing to the people.
The Additional Director General of Police (Headquarters), S.P. Vaid also addressed the meeting. He asked the officers to identify their priorities for strengthening infrastructure in their establishments. He said that central and state governments are liberal in providing funds to raise building capacity in the State. He asked to prepare their master plans under the modernization programme and submit to PHQ for further course of action. While preparing such plans long time requirements should be kept in mind, the ADGP said.
Among others, the meeting was attended by IGPs, Arun Kumar, HK Lohia, Mukesh Singh, Danish Rana and Sham Lal, DIGs, Surinder Kumar, AK Atri, Parminder Singh, Shakeel Ahmed Beig and Nissar Ahmed, AIGs (PHQ), Rajeshwar Singh, Tahir Sajjad, Kulbir Singh and Sheikh Zulfikar Azad, SP Trainings (PHQ), BA Shah, SP (A/A), Gulzar Ahmed, Exn. (PCD), Rashid Mustafa, CAO, Omar Khan, District SSPs of Jammu Zone and other police officers.
