Dy CM's king size posters cut to size by angry people during AIIMS Lalkar Rally

Jammu, July 25: More than one dozen big posters of senior BJP leaders which prominently figured face of Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh were cut to size by the angry people during Lalkar Rally here on Saturday.
As the procession moved from one place to another, the angry people tore off the posters of the deputy chief minister and other BJP leaders.
Presence of large number of people from different walks of life and tone and tenor of speeches made by representatives of different bodies sent the shivers down the spine of state government agencies as the agitation is gradually picking momentum ahead of the three day long bandh call beginningJuly 31.
Congratulating the people of Jammu for making the Lalkaar Rally a huge success, Chairman of AIIMS Coordination Committee (ACC) and President of JKHCBA, Jammu, Abhinav Sharma said the gathering of people should open the eyes of the BJP.
He said he has no doubt whatsoever that the Committee will achieve a full-fledged AIIMS for Jammu.
He said the people of the region are feeling outraged and humiliated not only because of the shifting of the sanctioned AIIMS from Jammu to Kashmir but also because the PDP-BJP Agenda of Alliance which they consider a bigger betrayal of the paramount national interests,he said
Sharma said that there is still time for the insensitive BJP leadership to read the writing on the wall and announce forthwith the promised AIIMS for Jammu. It would be in its own interests if the BJP announces AIIMS for Jammu before Jammu region observes three day long bandh from July 31. He further asserted that the people of the region are fighting for their self respect as well as for the status Jammu region deserves in the Indian polity as part and parcel of Indian nation building.
Addressing the Lalkaar rally, former Bar President Bhupinder Singh Salathia declared that the people of Jammu region wanted AIIMS back to Jammu. "We will not accept anything less than that. The BJP would meet the fate the other parties met in the last assembly elections because of their appeasement policy towards Kashmir in case it failed to reverse its Kashmir centric agenda taking into consideration interests of the region and the country as a whole, he said and added that BJP is performing its own funeral rites by its words and deeds in tandem with PDP.
Meanwhile president Shri Amar Khastriya Rajput Sabha, Narayan Singh, president Kumar Sabha, Pawan Singh, vice-president Narinder Singh and other Sabha members namely Kamal Singh, Balwan Singh, Randhir Singh, Ranjit Singh, Ajay Chib, Vishavjit Singh Manhas, Amit Chib, Sukhdev Salaria, M R Bangotra, Madan Lal Sharma and Ram Slathia sat on chain Hunger Strike on the fifth day.
