Early Times Report Jammu, july 25: A fresh batch of 617 pilgrims on Saturday left for the cave shrine of Amarnath in the south Kashmir Himalayas amid tight security. The batch, which included 416 men, 93 women, 14 children and 94 sadhus, left in a motorcade of 18 vehicles from Bhagwati Nagar base camp here at 04:30 AM, a police official said. The convoy has already reached Ramban on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway. With today's batch, as many as 41,888 pilgrims have so far left from the Jammu base camp for the shrine. |
