People protest after truck hits boy

Rajouri, July 25 : People held a protest and blocked the Jammu-Rajouri road near Thalaka under the jurisdiction of Nowshera police station after a truck allegedly hit a boy, injuring him critically. Immediately after the incident, that occured at about 3 pm, the driver fled the spot, leaving behind the vehicle. According to reports, a truck bearing registration No PB10B-7858 was heading towards Jammu from Rajouri side when it hit a boy walking by the road side. The boy, identified as Farhan Ahmed, son of Mohammad Sadiq of Anayatpura was injured critically and was rushed to sub district hospital at Nowshera from where after preliminary treatment he was referred to government medical college and hospital (GMCH), in Jammu. When contacted, Inspector Chaman Gorkha, SHO of Nowshera police station, said the boy was critical and had been referred to GMCH, Jammu.
