Srinagar, Sept 24: In what may come as good news for employees of the state government, the Finance Department has reportedly released Rs 566 crores from various treasuries.
"All the payments for which the bills/cheques were received at the treasuries up to September 23 were paid particularly in respect of salaries, wages, contractors/firms, land compensation, local bodies as also all such payments relating to general public and the employees," the Finance Department said in a statement, according to a media report.
To ensure that the payments are made smoothly at the treasuries without any inconvenience to the general public, the Director General, Accounts & Treasuries, on the instructions of Finance Minister, Dr Haseeb Drabu visited all the treasuries of district Srinagar personally today, it added. |
