'Power hungry' BJP shedding crocodile tears
Sacking of Vishal, Parimoksh

Early Times Report

jammu, Sept 24: The 'power-hungry' BJP has again done it. Its ministers, like before, have again sought to hoodwink and mislead the people of Jammu region by saying that the PDP violated the coalition dharma by not taking them into confidence before contemplating stringent action against Additional Advocate General Vishal Sharma and Deputy Advocate General Parimoksh Seth. In fact, according to party sources, "BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav and other senior leaders directed the local BJP leadership to take recourse to a lame excuse and feign ignorance so that an impression goes that the BJP had nothing to do with the removal of Sharma and Seth".
Sharma and Seth were humiliated and removed from their respective positions by the PDP-BJP coalition government on Tuesday obviously on the ground that they dealt with cow killing and beef eating issue in a manner that made the J&K High Court upheld the relevant laws and direct the concerned authorities to strictly enforce the law. To be more precise, they were removed because they logically and convincingly pitched for the implementation of the laws. The PDP trouble-shooters in the Law Ministry, which is controlled by PDP, allegedly conspired against Sharma and Seth to identify the PDP-BJP coalition government with the "forces" in the Valley, who have all upped the ante and demanded lifting of ban on cow killing and beef eating asserting that the ban was a direct interference in the religious affairs of Muslims. Beef eating is our fundamental right, these forces in the valley have been saying. The charge of the BJP that the PDP didn't consult the BJP ministers on the issue of removal of Sharma and Seth - both RSS-BJP men -appears to be untenable. And this was not the first occasion when the BJP chose to take such a dubious line. The BJP did it when the PDP leader and Finance Minister imposed Jazya tax on Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrimage. The BJP did it when the Revenue Ministry made Urdu compulsory for those who have applied for the posts of Naib Tehsildar. (The High Court on Wednesday stayed the order.) The fact of the matter is that the PDP-BJP coalition government has been from day one taking decisions and implementing policies which only suit one region, ie those who inhabit Kashmir, and which not only hurt the religious sensitivities of the people of Jammu and Ladakh regions but also harm their social, economic and political rights and genuine interests. The BJP has been a party to all the decisions as it is part of the cabinet which takes policy decisions. Ours is a cabinet system of government and all the decisions which are taken and implemented are the decisions of the cabinet. This is the constitutional position.
People of Jammu province are not fools. They understand everything. They know who is doing what to them and they hold BJP alone responsible for what the PDP-led coalition government has been doing. They know that all the BJP ministers and the PDP ministers are on the same page and they also know what the BJP legislators have been doing to placate PDP for obvious reasons.………………………
