Tight security in Kishtwar on Eid
DC reviews arrangements

Kishtwar Sept 24: security has been beefed up in sensitive kishtwar town which witnessed bloody communal clashes on Eid in 2013.
This time the administration is in no mood to take any risk. Security has been beefed up. Besides all entry and exit points leading to Kishtwar town and Eidgah have also been sealed by the police and vehicles are allowed to enter Kishtwar town only after proper checking.
As per reports over three thousand security personnel including troops of CRPF, Police, IRP and armed police today marched in all parts of Kishtwar town including the Chowghan ground where Eid Nimaz is schedule to be held tomorrow at 9.30 AM. The ground has been sealed and will be thrown open for public hours before the schedule Eid Nimaz.
Later DC Saugat Biswas also visited Eidgah and took stock of final arrangements. SP Yougal Manhas, ADDC Avtar Singh Chib, Additional SP Abdul Qayoom, Executive Engineer R&B/PWD , Executive Engineer PHE, EO Municipality and other sector officers also accompanied the DC.
The DC inspected the Eidgah and instructed EO Municipality to ensure proper cleanliness and sanitation of whole city including Eidgah, besides restoring all the street lights and directed him and Executive Engineer PDD to work jointly for such task for that an ultimatum of ten days was given to them.
He warned the concerned officers to speed up keep all the tasks entrusted to them within the stipulated time. The PDD officers were directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply at Eidgah from 8:00 AM to 12.00 noon on eve of Eid-ul-Azha. All other arrangements to be installed at Eidgah including Water Tanks, Fire Tenders etc were also inspected.
While inspecting the several entrances and exits of the venue, the DC instantly ordered Executive Engineer R&B/ PWD to repair one of the entrances in concrete immediately for the smooth flow of people, as it was in dilapidated condition and risky for the people while entering. He also directed to take strict action against erring traders/butchers especially those found overcharging and selling sub standard food, mutton, chicken and other eatables on the occasion of Eid.
As far as the security arrangements is concerned DC along with SP exhausted all the available resources in deploying the required paramilitary forces as well the district police including the deployment of magistrates for different zones accompanied with heavy contingents of police force. A strength rehearsal of such was also exercised today in whole the city.
