Early Times Report JAMMU, May 17: Katra police claimed to have arrested three women bootleggers besides recovering 100 poly pouches of liquor from their possession during naka checking here in holy town, today. The accused have been identified as Shashi Devi w/o Sunil Sharma of Sheesh Mehal Poonch A/P Chintamani Katra, Vaishno Devi w/o Bala Ram of Chintamani Katra Tehsil Katra District Reasi and Renu Devi w/o Som Raj of Chintamani Katra Tehsil Katra District Reasi. "Acting on a specific input, a Police team headed by Inspector Sanjeev Sharma, SHO P/S Katra under the supervision of Dr Ashok Sharma, KPS SDPO Katra, Sumir Kotwal, KPS AddlSP Katra and overall supervision of Sujit Kumar, IPS SSP Reasi laid a surprise naka at PCP Moorie, police spokesperson said. He said, "During checking/frisking, the police team succeeded in recovery of 100 Poly Pouches measuring 250 ml each of J&K excise liquor from the possession of above mentioned three women." "The accused have been arrested on the spot and recovered poly pouches of liquor have been seized. In this connection, a case FIR No. 82/2016 u/s 48-A Excise Act, 188/RPC stands registered at P/S Katra and investigation are in progress. |
