Grameen Bank organises D-FLAP at Chowki Choura

Jammu, Feb 14: J&K Grameen Bank organized D-FLAP (Going Digital) at Govt Higher Secondary School, Chowki Choura under the Branch Office Chowki Choura, District-Jammu
Micro Finance and Financial Inclusion Department under the chairmanship of RK Chhibber in collaboration with NABARD organized Digital-Financial Literacy Awareness Programme in village Chowki Choura on the theme of Public participation in promoting cashless economy under the Branch Office Chowki Choura Jammu.
Bhopinder Singh, LDM SBI, was the chief guest on the occasion, aware people about developments in banking sector and latest schemes. The participants were informed regarding various modes of getting cashless transactions from banks, various safeguards to be kept in mind in order to be aware and prevent cases of cheating/ corruption while availing different banking facilities with special reference to use of ATM Cards, Mobile Banking etc. People were educated about the Aadhar Seeding and Mobile seeding with their respective saving bank accounts which is need of the hour for the banking sector.
Veena Kerni, Principal Govt Higher Sec School, was the Guest of Honour on the occasion, appreciated the efforts of the bank towards social security schemes and applauded that the bank is making extraordinary efforts to make the national programme of social schemes a big success
Vipan Gupta, Senior Manager, MF&FI Department, J&K Grameen Bank, highlighted that the programme intends to impact the gathering regarding digitization by educating the people about the benefits of digital banking and a cashless economy.
Regional Manager Jammu, KL Sharma, emphasized on various facilities of the Bank. He described the problems faced by the general public due to the unawareness of the availability of simple digital and cashless transaction methods. He impressed upon the public to learn and use of these cashless modes of payment. He impressed upon the participants not to use any middle man from availing any benefit from the bank and approach the bank branch directly.
Representatives of Line Departments like KVIB, Animal Husbandry also attended the programme. At least 300 students were present, besides the huge gathering Sarpanch, Panchs and other dignitaries of the villages were also present during the occasion.
Balwinder Singh, Branch Head Chowki Choura, addressed the gathering and detailed them regarding the schemes of the Bank. Car, Tractor, JLG and KCC loans of Rs.37 lakh were also disbursed during the programme. He also stressed upon the social security schemes including APY, PMJJBY, PMSBY and presented the vote of thanks.
