| Drugs take toll on Udhampur | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur, Feb 14: Drug addiction has taken its toll in Udhampur district with a boy losing his nerves to deadly drugs.
The boy (name withheld) is seen roaming around in the town aimlessly. The boy gets violent when the family restricts his movement and confines him to a place. Reports said, the boy tried to beat his mother.
"He jumped from the terrace and caused extensive damage to a car parked below," family sources said. The police have taken him into custody but the locals resent failure of the authorities to curb the drug menace. They have demanded stern action against the drug peddlers. "The district must have a drug de-addiction centre," they demanded. When contacted SHO Udhampur Sanjeev Gupta said the addict has been sent to mental hospital. |
