J&K registers win against Himachal Pradesh

JAMMU, May 11: J&K handicapped Cricket eleven registered great win against Himachal Pradesh by seven wickets in Physically handicapped Cricket Tri-Series at Mandi Himachal which is being organized by Himachal Pardesh Cricket Association for Divyang under the aegis of Physically Challenged Cricket Association of India.
In the opening match J&K handicapped Cricket Eleven defeated Himachal Pardesh by seven Wickets. Batting first Himachal Pardesh Handicapped Cricket team scored 168 runs in 25.5 overs by losing all wickets with Rintu Jaiswal 29 runs, Hemraj Right 28 runs and Kuldeep Thakur 19 runs were the main scorers. From J&K Side Jagmohan Singh took 3 wickets, Amir rather, Nadeem Bhat and Vaishnu took 2 wickets each while Vivek Sharma took 1 wicket for his team.
In reply J&K team chased the target in 16.3 overs by losing 3 wickets thus won the match by 7 wickets. Firdous Ahmad was the main batsman from J&K side who scored unbeaten century of 101 runs in 52 balls with 22 boundaries, Vivek Sharma contributed 28 runs for the team and Captain of J&K team Syed Shah also made unbeaten 26 with 2 boudaries and I six . From bowling side Gurmeet Singh took 2 wickets while Hemraj Right took 1 wicket for himachal team. Firdous Ahmad was declared man of the match for his great batting.
Rajesh Gill former Ranji Player & incharge of the J&K Physically Handicapped Cricket team greeted the whole team telephonically for great win against Himachal Pradesh in the opening match.
Rajesh Gill Chief Prosecuting Officer of Police department also informed that the J&K Physically Handicapped Cricket was formed since the last 3 years with the help of J&K Police and Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu who always supported the J&K physically Handicapped Cricket team . The J&K team have participated in many national tournaments in which Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu sponsored their Uniforms and cricket equipments. It needs to mention here that within the span of only three years one Player from J&K namely Jagmohan selected & represented the India Physically Handicapped against Afghanistan. Rajesh Gill further informed that we have some more players who are able to represent Indian team and we are trying to prepare them their selection in India.
