HC directs appearance of FSC on June 5 | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, May 30: The State High Court on Wednesday asked the J&K Food Safety Commissioner to be present before it on June 5 for explaining position over not filling up of the various posts required in the department for strengthening its manpower as a result of which no regular checks are being carried in the market. The directions by a Division Bench of Acting Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice M K Hanjura followed submissions by amicus curie the Government was not filling up the various posts which are required in the department and that there are no regular checks being carried in the market as a result thereof. Meanwhile state counsel admitted that the FSC is not functioning properly as there is lack of accommodation and in this connection he submitted, Director Estates has been communicated to provide the suitable accommodation to the FSC. Previously, the court has already directed the Government to take all necessary steps for filling up of the post in question along with strength of staff with three weeks and in case of any default by the concerned authorities, court directed them to appear in person before the court. Advocate Bashir informed the court that no process for appointment has taken place so far except advertising of the requisites post by the recruitment board. The Court asked the state counsel for presence of FSC and directed the FSC be made personally present before the court on next date of hearing in the PIL, initiated by the court suo-moto. |
