Jammu, June 11: In view of the demands raised by certain employees regarding release of 7th Pay Commission, Minister H&UDD Sat Sharma visited JDA office and interacted with the employees/officers of JDA & inform the agitating employees that Finance Department has now issued the SRO extending the 7th Pay Commission benefits to Corporations, Development Authorities and other Autonomous Bodies.
It is pertinent to mention that some employees despite the decision of Board of Directors of Jammu Development Authority regarding of release 7th pay commission had launched strike and were on strike for the last 12-13 days, but the majority of the employees were happy over the decision taken by the Board of Directors of JDA and Sat Sharma (Chairman JDA) regarding the implementation of 7th pay commission.
The Minister in a joint meeting of housing Board, Srinagar Development Authority and Jammu Development Authority had announced implementation of 7th pay commission but the order to this effect was to be issued after the concurrence from Finance Department. The Finance Department has now issued the SRO extending the 7th Pay Commission benefits to Corporations, Development Authorities and other Autonomous Bodies.
While addressing the employees of JDA, the Minister took serious view of the illegal strike continued by certain sections of JDA and warned them of strict action against them in future. He made clear that 7th pay commission benefits will be released by the Vice Chairman JDA in the salary of June with the arrears. He took exception to the behaviour of the certain employees and advised them not to fall prey to any false propaganda and concentrate on the work for the growth and development of Authority. The Minister instructed for strict punctuality and disposal of cases by the employees.
However pertaining to the enhancement of daily wage rates as per the rates notified by the Labour Department, he announced adoption of the same by JDA and asked the Vice Chairman, JDA to process the cases and submit to the competent authority/Board of Directors. The Vice Chairman, intimated that some employees have been illegally engaged in past by Vice Chairman's/ Chairpersons without prior approval from the Board of Directors/ Chairman and release of the wages in their favour with require proper sanction so that there is not illegality/wrong decision at his level. Those present in the meeting included K.B. Agarwal, Financial Commissioner, H&UDD, Vice Chairman, JDA, Director Land Management JDA, Superintending Engineer, JDA, Collector Land Acquisition JDA, XEn's and other officers of JDA.
