BJP backstabbed Jammu, says Rana
6/30/2018 10:37:36 PM
Early Times Report

Udhampur, June 30: National Conference Provincial President Devender Singh Rana on Saturday advised the BJP against playing smart by pretending victimhood on deliverance front and failing Jammu on all fronts, saying self-condemnation cannot be always a virtue.
"Irony is not that the BJP is publicly admitting failure in deliverance, development and fulfilling aspirations of Jammu but brazenly offering excuses to hide the betrayal to those who vehemently mandated with 25 seats in Legislative Assembly during 2014 elections", Rana said while addressing workers at Udhampur.
The Provincial President referred to the memorandum presented by a BJP delegation to Governor N. N Vohra, seeking completion of various projects and schemes in the Jammu region and described it an attempt to hoodwink public opinion.
This amounts to undermining the political wisdom and common sense of Jammuites, who are sagacious enough to read between the lines.
He said honesty and political morality demanded the BJP to admit its failures and apologise to the people, who have undergone a nightmarish era in the past over three years.
Rana wondered over the self-condemnation unleashed by the BJP and asked as to who stopped it from fulfilling the promises made to the people of Jammu.
"You were in power at both centre and in the state …Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and the ministers down below kept visiting the state quite frequently and left with expanded chests of delivering good governance in partnership with the PDP and keeping up the commitment of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas", he asked and said that neither development was undertaken, which is now openly being admitted by the BJP, nor was support of all sought. He said the alienation among the people has grown wider and it is all because of the ill-advised and provocative policies pursued by the BJP.
The Provincial President referred to the issues the BJP took with the Governor, including setting up of AIIMS and three Medical Colleges in the Jammu region, SMART City project, implementation of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana, Artificial Lake Project, Tawi River Front Project on the pattern of Sabarmati Project and so on, saying these were the portfolios held by the BJP ministers. How can they shift the blame now, he questioned.
Rana asked the BJP to account for its sins and failures to the people of Jammu instead of provoking them by playing victim card. This is an obsolete tactic to carve out some relevance, he said adding that the BJP has lost its relevance in Jammu.
