Jammu, June 30: In continuation to operation 'Sanjeevani', a special drive against drugs launched by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Vivek Gupta, today Gangyal Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered 250 intoxicative capsules.
"Today a routine nakka was established at Digiana Camp near Gurdwara, when one pedestrian was coming from Satwari towards Kunjwani was signalled to stop for police checking", said police spokesman adding that on seeing the Police, he tried to escape from the spot in suspicious circumstances.
He was chased and apprehended and during his personal search, Police party recovered 250 intoxicative capsules (Provan Spas and Spasmo-Proxyvon plus) from his possession, said spokesman.
On this, a case under FIR No. 54/2018 under relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Gangyal and further investigation of case is going on.
The arrest and recovery was made by the team headed by SI Nayat Ali SHO Gangyal under the supervision of SDPO City South, Jammu Mohd Rafiq Manhas and SP City South, Jammu. |
