Amateur Championship Cup 2018 organized at Jammu Tawi Golf Course

JAMMU, Dec 16: Jammu Tawi Golf Course (JTGC) in collaboration with J&K Tourism Department organized JTGC Amateur Championship Cup 2018.
The members of the club who participated in the event represented Tawi and Chenab team. Chief Electoral Officer, J&K Shailendra Kumar led the Chenab team and emerged the winner.
Kumar who was also the chief guest on the event presented prizes to the winning team with the best play by Khursheed Badoo. Omair Nisar Ganai was declared best player among the runners-up team "Tawi". Similarly, SS Jamwal bagged the award for the straight drive, longest Drive went to Sachin Sharma, nearest to the Pin went to Bhupesh Gupta.
The chief guest congratulated the winning team and appreciated the Secretary JTGC for successfully organizing the event.
He urged the Secretary JTGC to further improve the facilities in the Golf Course. Other members also appreciated the efforts of Secretary, JTGC for taking up the matter with the Tourism Department for arranging required resources at the JTGC under "Languishing Project Fund".
Jammu is for the first time emerging as a golfing destination, as the state of Jammu and Kashmir has few of the best golf courses in the country. Jammu Tawi Golf Course is one of the most scenic and challenging golf course located on the left bank of river Tawi, nestled into the hillocks and forests of the Shivalik Range.
A colourful singing performance was presented by Dr Danish Khan, Jagdeep Singh, J P Singh, IGP and SS Jamwal. The event culminated with launch of exclusive Jammu cuisine. JTGC in collaboration with Directorate of Tourism, Jammu is also organizing Jammu Mahotsav Open Golf Championship on 29 and 30th December 2018.
