New trends emerging to keep Kashmir issue alive
12/16/2018 11:03:03 PM
Are the security forces responsible for
the killing of seven civilians in Pulwama district? Certainly not because whenever an encounter between militants and security forces take place large crowds surface at the encounter sites. And with reports surfacing about the killing of militants, the crowd gets enraged and clash with the security forces with stones and sticks. And whenever slain militants are carried to the burial ground for burial crowds do surface there and ultimately clashes between civilians and security forces take place. And in the clashes civilians do give a tough challenge to the security forces who are forced to open fire. This is what has happened in south Kashmir's Pulwama district where three militants and a jawan were killed in a gunfight in south Kashmir's Pulwama district In the subsequent clashes that followed seven civilians were also killed. The gunfight triggered at Sirnoo in Pulwama, 30 km from Srinagar, when joint teams of police, Army and CRPF cordoned off the area after an input about militants' presence. In the brief exchange of fire three militants were killed, Intense clashes broke out between the youth and forces near the encounter site which left seven civilians dead and many injured. A new trend has surfaced in Kashmir where each day encounters between militants and security forces take place and the crowds remain present either to distract the attention of the security forces or engage them with stone pelting which invariably force the security forces to open fire and in the fire some civilians get killed. Under this emerging trend whenever slian militants are taken to the burial ground large crowds march to the burial ground where they shout anti-India and anti-security forces slogans. And whenever they clash with the security forces it is but natural that instead of getting killed security forces open fire resulting in some casualities among the civilians. Whether the mainstgream political leaders or the separatists both sides do condemn it and some call it human rights violations which need checking. And the slogan of human rights violations are being taken to the international bodies, like the UNO, or the international for a for the purpose of keeping the Kashmir issue alive. Reports reveal that agencies across the LoC do provide guidance to the youth to clash with the security forces so that the men in Khaki and greens open fire and result in some casualities. Again the crowd shouts against human rights violations and again they knock the doors of the UNO and other international bodies with the allegations against torture and killing of civilians. This trick is being followed during the last about two years to give credibility to the Kashmir issue. And agencies in Pakistan want civilians to get killed so that Pakistan raises the Kashmir issue and demand the implementation of the UN resolutions on Kashmir which provide for right of self-determination. Had not these civilians getting killed Pakistan sponsored militancy may lose significance thereby allowing the Kashmir issue to get an honourable burial.
