NMC seeks release of 3 per cent DA

JAMMU, Feb 28: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today demanded release of 3 per cent DA due from January last for state government employees and pensioners in cash.
"We demand release of 3 per cent DA due from January last in favor of state government employees and pensioners in cash. DA is the part of salary and routine financial matter and as such there should be no hitch in releasing it", NMC President Subash Shastri said while addressing the workers meeting here.
He said that the salaried class and pensioners were facing lot of economic hardships due to high inflation and price hike and release of due DA installment will be a genuine measure to provide some financial relief to them.
Shastri said that the delay in release of DA would not only put financial burden on the state government exchequer to liquidate the arrears but also increase the difficulties of employees and pensioners.
The prices of all essential commodities are going up, it is requested to Governor administration to take decision in this regard in the upcoming SAC meeting so that employees and pensioners would get sigh of relief from inflation and price hike.
Stressing on the need for early creations of separate heads in all concerned departments and budgetary allocation made separately so that till their regularizations, the daily rated workers are able to get their monthly wages regularly and in time.
He said that these daily rated workers facing serious financial hardships as their services have not been regularized for the last two decades nor they are getting their wages regularly.
Shastri also demanded for early an enhancing of medical allowance to rupees one thousand on the pattern of central Govt. pensioners to the State pensioners releasing of all pending wages of daily rated workers working in the various departments of the State Govt. issuance of regularization order of 180 daily wagers workers working in rural development department of Jammu region beside, total exemption of DA from income tax slab and increasing the wages of daily rated workers to Rs. 500/- per day etc.
Among others who were also present on the occasion included Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S. Jamwal, Darshan Bawa, Madan Lal, Sukhdev Singh, Suraj Parkash, Ram Singh, Surinder Kumar, Bhupinder Singh, Ramesh Sharma and others.
