Name Ramkot Degree College after Maharaja Hari Singh: Manoj Gupta | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 28: Newly built college that is to be inaugurated today by Governor, J&K Satya Pal Malik should be named after Maharaja Hari Singh reiterated by Manoj Gupta, District President Panthers Trade Union, Kathua (JKNPP) during a press conference in Jammu today. He affirmed that it is due to Maharaja Hari Singh that we got opportunity to become part of India on 26th October 1947 through Instrument of Accession. He was nationalist, democratic justice lover and above all his time. In September, 1925 Hari Singh took oath of as a Maharaja of J&K. In 1926, Maharaja opened Primary School in Ramkot after that in 1946 the middle school will be granted in 1954. This Middle School has upgraded as High School after that in 1986 again upgraded as Higher Secondary School from a long period of 34 years. The high demand of people of Billawar for Degree College in Ramkot Tehsil. It is astonishing that even ex -Deputy CM, Dr. Nirmal Kumar, Chaudary Lal Singh, Ex-MP and Dr Jitendra Singh, MP from Kathua Udhampur -Doda constituency all have failed to declare 26th September, the Birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh as day of holiday although all are in power. "It shows these leaders have no concern with the sentiments of people of this state as it is public outcry. Now when question of College came, people again aspired to declare it on the name of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji at Ramkot in Kathua district. It definitely become a small tribute to such a great personality", he said and asserted that Panthers party always stood for the cause of Dogras and will fight for their justice and equality. |
