Issued by H&ME, inquiry order in allegations of corruption lost in thin air | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 28: In a bizarre incident, an inquiry order issued by the Health and Medical Education Department against two officials of the Health Department in the corruption case has been lost in oblivion as the Directorate of Health and Service Jammu claims that said order has not reached him even after the lapse of one month. Pertinently, Under Secretary of Health and Medical Education Department, Javaid Ahmad Malik had ordered inquiry against SO Yoginder Bhat and Brij Mohan Junior Assistant by a committee comprising Deputy Director Headquarter Jammu, AO and Senior most section officer Jammu on January 31, 2019. The committee members were asked to submit enquiry report to the administrative department within 10 days but the order has not reached DHS Jammu so far. When contacted Deputy Director Headquarter Jammu (Committee member) Dr Renu said that she was part of the above said committee but no such communication had been received. Talking to Early Times, Director Health and Service Jammu Dr Samir Matto said that they had not got any information regarding this but the staff was looking for the order which was sent by H&ME. Refuting the claims of the DHS Jammu, Under Secretary Javaid Ahmad Malik told that the order was sent to them for conducting an enquiry in the above-said case. He claimed that a fresh enquiry order would be issued on Friday. Taking jibe on contradicting statements made by the officials of the department, sources said that it seems the officials do not want accountability in the department. Sources within department told Early Times that Riaz Ahmad of Kathua had filed a written complaint in the department against the two officials in the case of corruption in January this year and sought inquiry against them. Following the complaint an order was issued but the same was misplaced and interestingly no official is taking its responsibility. Calling it departmental negligence, sources said that such attempts were being taken in a bid to shield the accused. |
