2-day State Cycling Championship commenced in Jammu

Jammu, Mar 16: Two day Jammu and Kashmir State Cycling Championship commenced on Saturday at Bhuse Chak, Phallan Mandal. The cycle championship is being organised by Jammu and Kashmir Cycling Association sponsored by J&K Sports Council under the aegis of J&K Olympic Association and Cycling Federation of India. The cyclist from across the state of Jammu and Kashmir, who was selected on during the district championship on Friday participated in the event. The event was supervised by Sr. S. S and technical committee Om Prakash, Balvinder Singh, Ajay Kumar, Shail Raina, Pushpinder Singh, Mushtaq Ahmad from Srinagar. On the first day of the cycling event in under 14, 1.2 KM race, Adnan Bashir stood first, Hilal Ahmad second and Richard Singh third. In Under 16 age group Rajveer Singh got first position, Swaran Kumar second and Jahangir bagged third position. For Under 19, 5000 meter race, Akaash stood first, Amir secured and Aneesh bagged third position. The other dignitaries' present on the occasion were Ravinder Singh President J&K Cycling Association, Rajan Sharma General Secretary J&K Amateur Boxing Association, Parveen Gupta Principal Government High School along with staff Balbir Kumar, Balbir Singh, Amarjeet Kour and all Sarpanchas of Phallan Mandal block.
