Provide employment to youth in highway, railway projects: Harsh | | | Early Times Report
Ramban, Mar 30: Launching a scathing attack on all the traditional parties and successive state governments for ignoring district Ramban in all spheres, Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP and former Minister also accused the diabolical BJP partnered alliance of not meeting the expectations of the local people including the unemployed youth. Rather it invited destruction, ruin and disaster in the entire Jammu region, Harsh rued. He was addressing several public meetings at Banihal, Khari, Maggerkot, Ukhral in Ramban segment of Udhampur parliamentary constituency today. Addressing the people, Harsh Dev Singh went down memory lanes and narrated the propaganda of BJP during 2014 Assembly elections which vowed to bring much hyped 'Achey Din' for the people. He said that the Saffron clan had bugled an 'era of development' with massive fanfare but all turned hoax. "The development came to a grinding halt. Corruption, nepotism, unemployment soared to all time high during the erstwhile regime. Youth were the major casualty of the coalition's apathy and callousness. People were forced to live at the mercy of God. There was no virtual impact of the national schemes on the ground. The masses were deprived of the envisaged benefits while the corrupt politicians and bureaucrats overtly looted public money', Harsh recalled. On local issues, Harsh Dev Singh sought due share for local youth of district Ramban in employment. Taking a dig at the construction companies who were allotted highway and railway projects, he accused the big corporate houses including AFCON, Gammon India, HCC and IRCON of violating the terms of agreement signed with erstwhile State government with regard to engagement of local workers in various ongoing projects. Singh further regretted that despite Ramban being blessed with unmatched tourism resources, the successive governments failed to tap its potential. |
