NC has taken Kashmiris for a ride with their bogus promises: Vakil
4/3/2019 10:18:11 PM
Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Apr 3: Peoples Conference Senior Vice President and former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil while criticising Omar Abdullah's statement to revert positions of Sadr-e-Riyasat and Wazeer-e-Azam, said that Omar and his lineage had made bogus promises from time to time and took the masses of Jammu and Kashmir for a ride since long in lieu of power.
Vakil, while addressing electoral meeting in various villages of Rafiabad said that Omar had a deal with BJP regarding the autonomy of the state when he was Foreign Minister in the BJP government.
While questioning his dichotomous attitude, he asked why is Omar trying to exploit and invoke the sentiments of innocent people in the name of restoring of positions of Sadr-i-Riyasat and Wazeer-e-Azam?
"Omar has realised that his party's debacle is imminent so to counter that he is trying to lure the masses by striking the chord of the restoration of the status of Sadr-i-Riyasat and Wazeer-e-Azam," he said.
He said that it was National Conference's alliance partner Congress which amended the positions of PM and Sadr-i-Riyasat in 1965.
"Isn't it true that the party you have allied with is the one which demolished the positions of Sadr-i-Riyasat and Wazeer-e-Azam?" he questioned.
He further said if Omar is sincere in bringing these posts back to the State, he ought to utilize their alliance with Congress and make Rahul Gandhi promise the restoration of positions of Sadr-i-Riyasat and Wazeer-e-Azam.
Taking a dig at the political gimmicks of NC Patron Farooq Abdullah, Vakil said that "he cannot befool the educated constituents anymore as they are aware of his track record of various embezzlements which he shields behind his rhetorical speeches."
While lambasting Farooq for being hand in glove in JKCA scam for which CBI had already filed a charge sheet against him, he urged masses to remain extra vigilant against such deceitful politicians who can do anything in lieu of power.
"It was Farooq Abdullah who syphoned off nearly half of the Rs. 112 Crore which was granted by BCCI for cricket lovers of J&K as a promotion to hone their cricket skills to make them competent enough at national level," he said.
Vakil appealed to the people to give them befitting reply of their failures and lies in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Senior party leader Khurshid Ahmad Khan also addressed the meetings at Naribal, Hamam, Yakhipura and Fadapura
