NYAY scheme will empower poor: JKPCC
4/6/2019 10:30:52 PM
Early Times Report
kathua, Apr 6: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) general secretary Shahnawaz Choudhary said that the NYAY Scheme is aimed at empowering the poor by guaranteeing minimum income of Rs 72,000 per annum if the Congress will be voted to power.
While addressing media persons at Kathua, he said that if party will be voted to power it will provide free education to students from 1st up to class 12th class. He asserted that the BJP Government has miserably failed in fulfilling the promises made with people during the 2014 Parliamentary elections.
He also said that priority of BJP was not to empower people by strengthening democratic institutions but those at the helm of the affairs wanted to accomplish their selfish designs by controlling such institutions through undemocratic means.
Terming the promises made by BJP government as mere bluffs, Shahnawaz Choudhary said that voters were fed up with the sheer opportunism of it. BJP took the extreme positions on most of the emotional issues and exploited their respective constituencies to the hilt, with a false and deceptive promise, he added.
Appealing people from different walks of life particularly youth to become part of the party, Shahnawaz Choudhary said Congress offers a platform for all well meaning peoples to encourage them and play their role in party's vision of political resolution and good governance.
Shahnawaz Choudhary strongly maintained that the NYAY scheme conceptualized by the Congress in its manifesto would be of "big help to empower the poor.
"The NYAY scheme is aimed at empowering the poor by guaranteeing minimum income of Rs 72,000 per annum if the Congress was voted to power in the coming Lok Sabha elections, he said, adding that the NYAY scheme like the MGNREA is intended to empower poor families and the amount of Rs 6,000 per month would be credited to the account of the woman member in the family. More than 5 crore families will be benefitted by this historic step, he added.
Shahnawaz Choudhary asserted that Congress its manifesto has committed to give women reservation upto 33 per cent in parliament, Vidhan Sabhas and also job reservation in central govt. jobs.
He added that Congress will also give 34 lakh employment before march 2020 in central govt., state govt. and seva Mitra in panchayats.
The senior leaders who were present in the press conference include Pankaj Dogra (PCC Sec.), Paramjeet Pama (Pcc member), Nirdosh Sharma (Pcc Sec.), Ajaz choudhary vice president JKPYC, Romy sharma Distt. President youth congress kathua, Bogh Raj (congress OBC President Kathua), Narinder sharma (Distt Vice President), Pawan Sharma (Pardesh seva dal sec.), Arun sharma and Abdul Rashid.
