Early Times Report
Reasi, June 13: An influential lady Panch of Panchayat Alya of Tehsil Tariarth of district Reasi has allegedly encroached upon 200 kanals of forest land in district Nowshera in active connivance of senior officers of Forest Department.
Sources told Early Times that at village BC Kalakote, a Panch, who is said to be very powerful, has occupied hundreds of kanals of Forest land but the concerned department is unmoved which directly raises fingers on the officers at helms.
"She has been encroaching upon forest land for the last many years with the involvement of Forest officers and settling down her relatives to keep possession in her hand under the nose of Forest Department," they said.
The locals alleged that she can't grab the land on her own and there is definitely involvement of some senior officers and employees of the Forest Department.
They said that they informed the DFO Nowshera, Range Officer about the issue but they didn't pay and heed to the complaint which has vindicated their involvement in the State land grabbing.
When a senior officer of Forest Department was contacted in this connection. The locals appealed to Commissioner Secretary Forest Department to take action against the land grabber and the officials.
