Police hold Police-Public meet at Seri, Teryath

Jammu June 14th: Jammu and Kashmir police conducted Police Public interaction meetings at Seri and Teryath village of Nowshera Police Sub Division with an aim to further strengthen the public outreach initiative.
The meeting held at Seri was chaired by Additional SP Nowshera, Girdhari Lal Sharma and sarpanches, panches and civil society members from Seri, Sayal, Deeing, Mangiote villages participated in the meeting who raised issues like overcharging by the matadors and auto-magic drivers, use of tape recorders by drivers with high sound in passenger vehicles which creates noise pollution and nuisance.
They also raised the issue of involvement of some locals in liquor smuggling. Additional SP Nowshera, GL Sharma assured all the participants of the meeting that police will take strict action against all those who are violating norms in one way or the other.
He also assured the courage of people living in the area who are braving all odds including repeated ceasefire violation along Line of Control. Another public interaction meeting was conducted in Teryath which was chaired by sub divisional police officer Nowshera, Brijesh Sharma along with station house officer Dharamsal Amit Singh and police post incharge Teryath, Habib Pathan.
Sarpanches, lamberdars, local traders and civil society members from the area participated in the meeting. Participants raised a number of issues ranging from police to civil authorities and demanded redressal of grievances.
Addressing the meeting, SDPO Nowshera Brijesh Sharma assured the people that all their genuine issues will be taken on priority for redressal.
He also appealed people to timely share information of any illegal activity going on in the area so that timely police action can be initiated to prevent any untoward incident.
