JKNPP holds protest, seeks probe into corruption in ADC office Udhampur | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 3: Alleging massive corruption in District Udhampur in the upkeep and maintenance of revenue papers and other records besides in the issuance of state subjects and other caste and category certificates, the JKNPP activists today held a massive protest at Exhibition Ground Jammu today seeking strict action against corrupt officers whose notoriety had crossed all imaginable limits. The protestors raised slogans against Additional Deputy Commissioner Udhampur and sought a probe into all complaints lodged against him during the past one year. The protestors torched the effigy of ADC and urged upon the Governor to intervene personally so as to ensure justice to the aggrieved people of the District who were being robbed by such corrupt officers with none to check their immoral acts. Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Rajesh Padgotra Provincial President JKNPP regretted that no cognizance had been taken of the massive corruption prevailing in the office of ADC Udhampur despite public protests and demonstrations. "While the state Governor and his administration were giving tall slogans of curbing corruption and tightening noose around the corrupt officers, the ground situation was totally different. It was the writ of the corrupt that actually ran in most of the offices. A powerful mafia of corrupt politicians backed these unscrupulous officers and allowed them to operate with impunity", claimed Padgotra. |
