NDS confers Sanstha Samman awards to Duggar personalities

Jammu, Aug 3: Nami Dogri Sanstha felicitated Dr. Deepak Kumar and Corporator Narottam Sharma for their dedicated and outstanding contributons to the Society.
Vikram Randhawa MLC was the Chief Guest on the occasion whereas Sohail Kazmi, Veteran Journalist presided over the function. Rohit Choudhary, National President, Kissan Welfare Association was Special Guest whereas Tarun Uppal, a Social Activist was Special Invitee and Advocate Amit Gupta was the Guest of Honour of the function. Dr. Chanchal Sharma, Organising Secretary, NDS read papers on the life and works of both the personalities honoured.
Capt. Lalit Sharma IFS, APCCF (Retd.) and Convener NDS in his opening address said that working in any profession with focus on social cause makes the difference and in this regard works and contributions of Dr. Deepak Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of Super Speciality Hospital Jammu and Corporator Ward No. 3, Jammu Narottam Sharma deserve to be recognised and honoured so that the youth get motivated and influenced from their social services and contributions. Earlier at the outset two minutes silence was observed to pay homage to Late Shri Chhatter Pal ji noted hindi and dogri writer who left this false world during last week.
This was followed by felicitation of Dr. Deepak Kumar and Narottam Sharma by the dignitaries on behalf of NDS. A Shawl, Citation and Trophy was presented to both the personalities as sanstha saaan.
Vikram Randhawa, MLC while addressing the writers, artists and prominent social personalities said that the persons in their different fields with outstanding contributions not only empower the society, facilitate upliftment of poor and down trodden but raise the literary levels of the society.
He said that Dr. Deepak Kumar right from joining the medical profession in 1999 has worked and provided medical assistance to the poor, slum dwellers in Mumbai by way of free OPD besides organising blood camps for the needy. Back in State since 2009 besides his duties his special focus has been on poor and needy patients and this is an exceptional quality.
Similarly Narottam Sharma as educated youth opted for social service. He played leading role in the 2001 Medical College admissions agitation and now serving the people as a Corporator as grass root worker. He said we need to recognize and appreciate the people who are working in various fields with honesty, dedication and commitment.
